Ful medames



Ful medames (Arabic:فول مدمس, fūl midammis IPA: [fuːl meˈdæmmes]; alternate spellings include ful mudammas, as well as foule mudammes), or simply fūl, is an Egyptian dish of cooked fava beans served with vegetable oil, cumin, and optionally with chopped parsley, garlic, onion, lemon juice, and chili pepper. It is a staple food in Egypt, especially in the northern cites of Cairo and Gizah. Ful medames is also a common part of the cuisines of Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Sudan, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia.
