The Jangar Epic (also written Janggar) (Kalmyk: Җанhр) is a traditional epic poem of the Oirat people. It is told throughout Mongolia, China and Russia. The story is recited by singers called Jangarqi or Jangarchi. The Jangar has approximately 25 or 26 chapters, though certain versions may have more than 100 chapters.
