鲍氏蛇鳗，为辐鳍鱼纲鳗鲡目糯鳗亚目蛇鳗科的其中一种，分布于印度西太平洋区，从南非德班至印尼海域，栖息深度可达20公尺，本鱼体细长，体色淡褐色并具有镶白边的黑色鞍状斑，头部及吻部具有金黄色的斑块及斑点，背鳍及臀鳍边缘有不规则的斑点，体长可达75公分，栖息在沙底质的潟湖及临海礁石区，属肉食性，会将身体埋藏在沙中或洞穴。

Napoleon snake eelThe Napoleon snake eel (Ophichthus bonaparti, also known as the Napoleon eel, the Purplebanded snake eel, or the Saddled snake-eel) is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm/snake eels). It was described by Johann Jakob Kaup in 1856, originally under the genus Poecilocephalus. It is a marine, tropical eel which is known from the Indo-Pacific, including Durban, South Africa, Mauritius, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, and the Penghu Islands. It is known to dwell at a depth of 20 metres (66 ft), and inhabits lagoons and reefs; it forms solitary burrows in sand sediments. Males can reach a maximum total length of 75 centimetres (30 in). |
