戊二醛，结构式OHC(CH2)3CHO。
无色透明有刺鼻气味的油状液体。不易溶于水，与热水互溶，易溶于乙醇和乙醚等有机溶剂。易聚合，必要时可加甲醇或脂肪醇聚乙二醇醚型非离子型表面活性剂作稳定剂。因纯品不易保存，故商品常为25％水溶液的形式。对皮肤、眼部、呼吸道粘膜有刺激作用。

Glutaraldehyde is an organic compound with the formula CH2(CH2CHO)2. A pungent colorless oily liquid, glutaraldehyde is used to sterilise medical and dental equipment. It is also used for industrial water treatment and as a preservative. It is mainly available as an aqueous solution, and in these solutions the aldehyde groups are hydrated.
