珀耳塞福涅（希腊语：Περσεφόνη、拉丁语：Persephone），又译为普西芬妮，或泊瑟芬。她是希腊神话中冥界的王后，主神宙斯和大地之神得墨忒耳的女儿。冥王之神哈得斯的妻子，珀耳塞福涅越快乐大地的花朵就越绽放，越悲伤大地就越一片荒芜，花朵渐渐枯委，后来母亲经过太阳神阿波罗的协调，及宙斯的出面处理，终于找回珀耳塞福涅，但在哈得斯的设计下吃了四颗石榴，注定每年要回地狱四个月，因此人间才开始有了分明的春夏秋冬四季，宙斯也把她升到天上变为处女座。

在希腊，方言的不同使珀耳塞福涅的名称也有所不同。罗马人首次听到她的名字的方言时称她为普洛塞庇涅（Proserpine），因此在后来的罗马神话中她就叫普洛塞庇娜（Proserpina）。罗马女神普洛塞庇娜后来成为文艺复兴的代表形象。珀耳塞福涅这个名字的意思为“光明的破坏者（light-destroyer）”，阿提卡人更喜欢用她神秘的别名科瑞（κόρη, Core、“少女”之意）来称呼她。珀耳塞福涅与赫卡忒关系较为密切，有时二者也会相互混同起来。

In Greek mythology, Persephone (/pəˈsɛfəni/, per-SEH-fə-nee; Greek:Περσεφόνη), also called Kore or Cora (/ˈkɔəriː/; "the maiden"), is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest goddess Demeter, and is the queen of the underworld. Homer describes her as the formidable, venerable majestic princess of the underworld, who carries into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead. Persephone was abducted by Hades, the god-king of the underworld. The myth of her abduction represents her function as the personification of vegetation, which shoots forth in spring and withdraws into the earth after harvest; hence, she is also associated with spring as well as the fertility of vegetation. Similar myths appear in the Orient, in the cults of male gods like Attis, Adonis and Osiris, and in Minoan Crete.
