四氢生物蝶呤（tetrahydrobiopterin），又称沙丙蝶呤（Sapropterin），简称BH4， 是三种芳香族氨基酸羟化酶的一种重要辅酶：苯丙氨酸羟化酶将苯丙氨酸转化为酪氨酸；酪氨酸羟化酶将酪氨酸转化为左旋多巴；色氨酸羟化酶将色氨酸转化为5-羟色胺酸。它也是一氧化氮合酶（NOS）合成NO的重要辅酶。

Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4, THB, trade name Kuvan) or sapropterin (INN) is a naturally occurring essential cofactor of the three aromatic amino acid hydroxylase enzymes, used in the degradation of amino acid phenylalanine and in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT), melatonin, dopamine, norepinephrine (noradrenaline), epinephrine (adrenaline), and is a cofactor for the production of nitric oxide (NO) by the nitric oxide synthases. Chemically, its structure is that of a reduced pteridine derivative.
