S波（S-wave，secondary wave）是二种体波（体波的命名是因为此波穿越地球内部，相对于体波的是表面波）中之一。它是因地震而产生的，被地震仪记录下来。命名为S波（secondary wave）是因为它的速度仅次于P波（最快的地震波）。S波的S也可以代表剪切波（shear wave），因为S波是一种横波，地球内部粒子的震动方向与震波能量传递方向是垂直的。S波与P波不同的是，S波无法穿越外地核。所以S波的阴影区正对着地震的震源。
