信浓川（日文平假名：しなのがわ，Shinanogawa）是日本第一长的河川，流域面积是日本第三大，为11,900平方公里。整体来说称之为「信浓川水系」，但在长野县境内叫作「千曲川（ちくまがわ，Chikumagawa）」，而经流过长野县下水郡进入新潟县之后才称为「信浓川」；称为千曲川的部份长度为214公里，而信浓川部份是153公里，全长合计为367公里。

自古时候的《万叶集》开始，就有许多诗歌是在描述千曲川，在近代也有不少歌曲是描述这条河流，另外也是诱发日本人思乡情愁的一条知名河川。日本战国时代在这河川的上游，犀川与千曲川会流的川中岛曾经爆发知名的川中岛之战，因而许多历史上有名的地方都是在这条河流的流域。

The Shinano River(信濃川,Shinano-gawa) is the longest and largest river in Japan. It flows from Nagano Prefecture to Niigata Prefecture. It is called the Chikuma River (千曲川 Chikuma-gawa) in Nagano Prefecture.

The river rises from Mount Kobushi on the border of Saitama, Yamanashi and Nagano, and flows northwest to meet the Sai River from Matsumoto. Kawanakajima (川中島), the junction of the Chikuma and the Sai, is the historic site where the Battles of Kawanakajima broke out. It turns to the northeast and empties into the Sea of Japan at Niigata City.
