津芝（阿拉伯语：زنج‎；Zanj），是中世纪阿拉伯地理学家对斯瓦希里海岸黑人的称呼。桑给巴尔之名因他们而来。

历史地理学把非洲东海岸到大湖根据每个地区的居民分为几个区域。索马里是babara，是柏柏尔人东方的土地。现在的埃塞俄比亚中世纪被称阿比西尼亚，主要居民是哈比沙人。

阿拉伯和中国的历史著作一般称埃塞俄比亚高原以南地方即坦桑尼亚和莫桑比克为津芝，他们的王称Mfalme。

Zanj (Arabic:زنج‎, from Persian:زنگ‎‎; "Land of the Blacks" ) was a name used by medieval Arab geographers to refer to both a certain portion of Southeast Africa (primarily the Swahili Coast), and to the area's Bantu inhabitants. This word is also the origin of the place name Zanzibar.
